What a great place for a special occasion or a intimate bite to eat. The Back Burner never disappoints.
MoreThe food was delicious and the service was outstanding.
1st visit. Definitely will go back. Food was great. Service fabulous. Would have liked the room to be a bit cooler. Otherwise, totally enjoyable experience.
MoreThe food is so good and Justin is the best waiter!! So pleased with the service and experience!!
MoreAlways amazing. Great staff. Super friendly. For such high quality food, it's a great value.
MoreTraditional Spanish tapas with South American and Japanese twist. Loved the French doors opening to the market!Stopped here for a coffee and a tea and a cake. The service was charming and efficient, the atmosphere was good for early evening but the highlight was the Santiago Almond Tart.
MoreSet in an old house, the Back Burner serves wonderful food with panache and a french flair. The owner, Christian, is French and used to co-own Cafe Provence ( which I just loved too). I've spent many happy nights here eating wonderful meals.. especially those sitting out in the front room area listening to the rain drumming on the pavement.
MoreThe service was wonderful. The pan seared scallops and lobster bisque was really good. Loved the bread. Didn't care for the house salad or the baked brie. The entree of grouper, shrimp and crab cake would have been better with less of the lemon butter sauce. I would highly recommend getting the sauce on the side. We enjoyed the crab cake the most. It was the only thing on the entree that wasn't covered in it. We also dared each other to try the escargot. My daughter and granddaughter ate two. I had to figure out how to spit it out discreetly. Lol.
MoreMy intentions were to visit another restaurant for their lobster ravioli, but I was sadly informed by their chef that they no longer served the meal. I decided to Google restaurants near me that did, and to my surprise The Back Burner popped up. I can't believe I'm just now finding this gem tucked away on Ingleside Ave. Arriving, I instantly felt like I'm in for a treat. I was treated with such kindness. I felt extremely welcomed. Although the meal was not on the menu, the chef assured me they had it. I wanted my meal to go. As I waited, the nice ladies asked if i wanted anything to drink. I mean this place was awesome. I waited inside my car until I knew the food would be ready. One of the nice ladies brought my meal to the car!! I will return. I've also shared my wonderful experience with my friends and family. They also will be joining. THANKS BACK BURNER FOR TURNING MY DAY AROUND AND ENDING IT WITH SUCH PLEASURE. The food was amazing I loved it!
MoreThis is my wife's favorite place to go she loves the lump crab cakes and I like the ahi tuna
MoreGreat food and service
A huge THANK YOU to The Back Burner Restaurant! We had a last minute lunch wedding reception for my friend and the guest list kept increasing. The Back Burner manager and staff remained extremely flexible, helpful, and patient with us throughout all our changes. The food was phenomenal and they did an excellent job helping us set up the beautiful table to make it extra special for the couple's big day!
MoreThe place is really nice...like I am at home...the service is good....and the Food OMG five star....Lobster is delicious.. Try to come eat here every special occasion.
MoreAs usual, Back Burner was a wonderful place to eat. The wait staff were very attentive, and the food was excellent. My friend and I both had Cajun fish topped with crab, potatoes O'Brien, lobster bisque, and we shared a piece of the multi-layered caramel cake. We got there at 11:30 and stayed until 3:00. We never felt hurried. We had a wonderful time renewing our friendship with wonderful food, service, and atmosphere.
MoreThis was not the night to come here for my wife celebration! The service was terrible.
MoreAlways a great time when we dine! The food is always excellent and well prepared with wonderful portions. The interior is relaxing and inviting. Desserts are so good, I get one each time to take it home if I dont have room left!
MoreThe food is among the best in Macon. Unfortunately the atmosphere wasn't as intimate as I was hoping for in an anniversary dinner. Other patrons' conversations were loud enough to make our own difficult, the space felt small, and the furniture wasn't comfortable for a long meal.
MoreI would add 10 stars if I could! The Back Burner served as an oasis for a friend and I travelling from Huntsville, AL down to Savannah. We were stuck in Atlanta traffic for 2 and a half hours and losing hope of ever reaching our destination. We decided to stop for a good meal to uplift our spirits and stumbled across this place. We were so impressed! Between the octopus appetizer, lamb entree and tasty Moscow mules.. we hated to get back in the car. The service was great, it was starting to get dark and was a bit rainy, but we wanted to sit outside to enjoy the fresh air. Despite being busy inside, our waitress did not skip a beat with our service. Great stop if you're driving through Macon
MoreBest food in Macon. It's in an old house, kind of out of the way. But it's definitely worth checking out. A little on the expensive side, but overall a great experience. I'd recommend it for a special occasion, or if you're just in the mood for something a bit more fancy.
MoreEverything is extremely fresh. The Blankened grouper special was seasoned and cooked to perfection.
MoreSteak was not cook as ordered. The fish was ok but not sure it was grouper and the crab cakes were kinda mushy and not flavored well. 12 layers dessert was great. Not planning on going back.
MoreThis place is an absolute jewel! Exceptional food, drinks, friendly staff. Finest food in Macon in my opinion.
MoreAbsolutely fabulous dinner. Had appetizers to dessert. Will certainly come back!
Very nice and romantic, food is delicious, service was great
I have been here several time and written one outstanding review but not today. Nothing was bad but just ho-hum. I have come to expect more but today was just ok. We both got the spicy grouper special for lunch. We both agreed it was such a boring meal. Not bad just not what I have come to expect. Waiter was great but the food was just average.
MoreCustomer service was great and the food was delicious. I'm definitely going back!!!!
MoreHad to return my first house special ribeye steak to over easy eggs hollandaise sauce ordered steak medium steak came back well
MoreThe food was very delicious, and the atmosphere was nice and romantic. Service was very friendly. Had the roasted brie and apricot jelly as an appetizer. The steak was a good cut and lightly seasoned. The seafood trio was a great sampler of the crabcake shrimp and grouper. It was all excellent. Will definitely be going back for a nice date night.
MoreThis was a good experience. The set up for our group was warm and inviting. The food tasted to be organic and fresh (I'm not sure if it was or not). The fish could have had more seasoning.. I didn't taste it at all, and could have baked a little longer. Overall, I really enjoyed being there.
MoreThe food is delicious, the portions are large and the prices are fair. The service is quick , the staff is friendly and the atmosphere relaxing.
MoreGood food and bigger portion sizes than you normally see in an upscale restaurant( I am a fan of food so I liked it). Small but cozy. I was less impressed with the dessert.
MoreIf you look for fine Food in Macon. You have to visit this place. Just Awesome Food.Very friendly stuff and always professional.Very perfect decoration and comfort. Conclusion: Clear Recommendation for an visit.
MoreVery nice atmosphere, with delicious food and great service. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Can't wait to return ☺
MoreJim Shaw's is probably your best seafood bet in Macon. The service was good, the food was tasty, the portions were reasonable. My only sticking point was the coleslaw. They put almost like a sweet pickle relish in there and that was not a flavor I was expecting or wanting.
MoreThis was my second visit. My first visit was with a work group and the experience was run of the mill. On my second visit, I had a steak that was under-seasoned and overcooked. I politely asked for another entree instead. I was informed by management because the food was a bit expensive, I would be charged for both entrees despite not eating the first. I was taken aback. I declined. I’ve never heard of this practice. I felt degraded. Poor, poor customer service. This will be my last visit. Would not recommend.
Morefrench food and the scene at this spot is great. The service here is better than most. Makes me feel like I am back in Tucson.
MoreWhat a great find this was. Quaint little upscale place tucked away in Macon. Seek it out, food and service were excellent. Nice selection of beer and wine to pair with any dish.
MoreMann that place was great! Melanie was an awesome server and she gave us some great recommendations on the menu and we ate some Escargot and I had the prime rib and Bae had the tuna. Very upscale and they take reservations there aa well. Hey Macon has some great spots here...
MoreI acutally get lunch orders to go pretty frequently. The food is incredible no matter what you select from the menu. One of the best lunch secrets and values in Macon.
MoreEverything was Superior. The Seafood Trio Almandine was exceptional and the Bread Pudding was “slap your Momma good.” Its a Southern thing. Ask someone with a drawl- they’ll explain it to you.
MoreFrench food... super yummy. do yourself a favor and give this place a try. nothing but pleasant experiences here. the place has a good atmosphere. food is similar to a cafe in indianapolis i liked.
MoreEverything was great I was very impressed with the service and the quality of the food. We were recommended to try this place while in Macon area and we are happy we took up our friends suggestions on where to eat while we were visiting. Again good food quality, good service and a nice atmosphere.
MoreThe food was delicious. I had the wild sea bass with mushroom and spinach. The sea bass was seared perfectly with just the right about of seasoning and the mushrooms and spinach were fresh and earthy with light salt.
MoreThe food is good and the atmosphere is laid back. It's a nice place for a business lunch or just a place to relax without all the noise and hassle of loud conversations. The staff are very friendly and the service is wonderful.
MoreSo glad I found this place, not only is the food delicious but the service is definitely 5 star worthy. Will definitely be back with my client when in Macon! Try the cinnamon pecan bread pudding, you will not regret it.
MoreExcellent dinner. Professional service. Nice wine list.
Don't know why I had never heard of this place being from the area. But I am damn glad I found it! Of all the places in and around Macon I've eaten at, this is by far one of the best. DO NOT let the name fool you into thinking it's some American eatery. Located in what used to be a little cottage. The setting is quite elegant yet still simple and to the point. Me and my girl got there kinda late considering they close at 2130 and we walked in at 2050, but they were still gracious and more than willing to serve. I got the herb crusted pan-seared lamb and it was easily the best I've had in a long time. She got the Chilean Sea bass and it to was cooked to perfection. It is a bit on the pricey side, being a bit more than what you would pay at a chain seafood restaurant. But I can guarantee, I will be back...multiple times!
MoreExcellent food and service. Has to be one of Middle Georgia's best for continental cuisine.
MoreThis place was very good in every way. We were sent there by the hotel owner when we told her we simply wanted great food. We got that plus great everything else. I had the lamb chops and it was perfect. My husband had the veal chop and it was perfect too.
